On May 27, Dr. Behshid Barkhordar was officially sworn in as the Zoroastrian representative in the 12th Parliament. The first session commenced with Sunni delegation leaders Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Abbas Ghodrati, and Abdul Hossein Hemmati taking their seats. The Sunni Speaker instructed religious minority representatives to swear by their holy books before reading the oath.
Dr. Behshid Barkhordar, along with other representatives, took the oath in accordance with Article 67 of the Constitution and Article 3 of the internal regulations. After the ceremony, Dr. Bahshid Barkhordar assumed the role from Esfandiar of the Zoroastrians, who had served for 16 years, to continue defending the rights of the Zoroastrian Association. Mobed Mehraban Firouzgari also attended the meeting.
