“Isatis” Documentary Secures Victory at Second Sobh International Media Event

The documentary “Isatis,” directed by Alireza Dehghan, clinched the prestigious award for Best Documentary in the main category at the second Sobh International Media Event, held this morning.

Judging the documentary segment of the morning’s proceedings were Sean Murray from Ireland, Igor Lopatonok from America, and Mohsen Barmahani from Iran.

The synopsis of “Isatis” unfolds a narrative of a timeless journey spanning millennia, traversing a desert devoid of water and vegetation, nestled in the heart of an ancient land. The narrative’s voice echoes through the elements of water, wind, earth, and fire. Though unfamiliar, these entities offer a vivid and captivating description. In Zoroastrianism, these elements hold sacred significance, emphasizing the importance of preserving their purity and sanctity.

Alireza Dehghan, born in 1367 in Yazd, stands as the visionary behind the documentary. Armed with a bachelor’s degree in theater acting and a master’s degree in art research from the Faculty of Art and Architecture, as well as a master’s degree in cinema from the University of Arts, Dehghan embarked on his artistic journey in 1379 through participation in theater groups.
