In celebration of Teacher’s Day, a ceremony was held at Yazd’s Bozorg Chami Hall to honor and express appreciation for the teachers of Zoroastrian religious classes.
Organized by the Mehravaran Yasna Kavir Yazd Institute in collaboration with the Council of Mobeds, the event paid tribute to the dedicated educators who teach Zoroastrian religious studies. During the ceremony, Shahrokh Bastani, CEO of the institute, spoke to attendees and shared insights into the organization’s work.
Bastani noted that the institute was founded in 2014 (1393 in the Iranian calendar) in response to the evolving needs of the Zoroastrian community. Its mission includes supporting the efforts of community associations and providing assistance to those in need.
He emphasized that the institute operates through dedicated task groups and works discreetly to support families. Trusted representatives act on behalf of the institute, ensuring that help is delivered confidentially to approved individuals and households without disclosing their identities.
In his remarks, Bastani also addressed the attending teachers, encouraging them to confidentially report any students facing academic, social, or family-related difficulties. He assured them that the institute is committed to offering comprehensive support to these students and their families to help overcome such challenges.
On Tuesday, May 5, 2025 (15 Ordibehesht 1404), a ceremony was held at the Bozorg Chami Hall in Yazd to honor and express gratitude to the teachers of Zoroastrian religious education, marking the occasion of Teacher’s Day.
The event was organized by the Mehravaran Yasna Kavir Yazd Institute in collaboration with the Council of Mobeds. During the ceremony, Shahrokh Bastani, the institute’s CEO, provided an overview of the organization’s ongoing initiatives and accomplishments.
He highlighted the establishment of the Jahan-Didegan Parvaresh Center, a facility for the elderly, which was launched with the support of a generous donor and is now actively serving Yazd’s senior community. Bastani also spoke about the Pouruchista Center, explaining that it is fully equipped and officially licensed by the Welfare Organization, and operates entirely through public donations. He extended his heartfelt thanks to the family of Sirous Khosravi for their meaningful financial support of the institute.
Also speaking at the event was Mehraban Afarin, head of the Zoroastrian Religious Commission of Yazd Province, who congratulated the educators and acknowledged their essential role in preserving the community’s spiritual heritage.
