The Pir-e Narestaneh shrine served as a spiritual gathering place for Zoroastrians during the annual days of communal pilgrimage.
On the evening of Thursday, June 26, 2025 (5th of Tir 1404 in the Iranian calendar), Zoroastrian pilgrims came together at Pir-e Narestaneh to take part in the annual pilgrimage ceremony. In a serene and prayerful atmosphere, worshippers recited traditional prayers, asking Ahura Mazda for health and well-being for themselves, their loved ones, and all humanity.
Every year, from Sepandarmad Day to Azar Day in the month of Tir on the Zoroastrian calendar (corresponding to June 23–27), Zoroastrians from across Iran and around the world make the journey to this sacred site. The five-day pilgrimage includes prayers, the observance of ancient customs, and joyful celebrations of faith and community.
Pir-e Narestaneh is located in a shallow valley in the village of Dorbid, 31 kilometers east of Yazd, nestled in the highlands. The shrine is maintained and overseen by the Zoroastrian Association of Maryamabad.
