Ramtin Houshangi was honored with a certificate of environmental conscience in business from public point of view, held on the occasion of the environment week.
Representing the Ramsar Environmental Secretariat from Mazandaran Province, Houshangi was selected for his valuable and voluntary contributions to environmental protection. Upon receiving the award, he dedicated it with pride to his parents.
The closing ceremony took place on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 (20 Khordad 1404) at the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad’s Khosheh Conference Hall. This year’s event was held under the theme: “Sustainable Development with a Focus on Ending Plastic Pollution.”
Organized by Seyed Ghavamoddin Bozorgian, the festival’s founder and secretary, and Jafar Gohargani, advisor to the Minister and Director General of Environmental and Sustainable Development Affairs, the ceremony brought together senior officials from key ministries and organizations.
Participants included representatives from the Ministries of Industry, Cultural Heritage and Tourism, Roads and Urban Development, Health, and several other government bodies and NGOs.
At the ceremony, 70 honorees were recognized based on the evaluations and decisions of the festival secretariat’s judges. Among the recipients of the Environmental Conscience awards were entities such as Bou Ali Sina Petrochemical, Bidboland Persian Gulf Gas Refinery, Khark Petrochemical, Kangan Petro-Refinery, the director of the Shahbanoo Environmental Guardians Association, the Director General of the Judiciary’s Office for Public Participation and Social Capital, the Director General of the Office of Environment, Sustainable Development and Technology, and Ramtin Houshangi.
The family of the late environmental ranger Kazem Mosadegh was also honored by Dr. Morteza Motazavi, Deputy for Social Affairs and Crime Prevention at the Judiciary; Dr. Ahmadi, Director General of the Office for Public Participation and Social Capital; Dr. Lahijanzadeh, Deputy of Marine Affairs at the Department of Environment; Dr. Fathi, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Jihad; Dr. Ebrahimi, Member of Parliament; and others.
Earlier, Ramtin Houshangi had been recognized by the former governor of Ramsar for compiling the book “Why Waste Recycling Matters”, and Captain Mehdi Biraqi for the book “Applications of Biotechnology in Aquaculture.”
Ramtin Houshangi is a Zoroastrian author, head of the Ramsar Fencing Association, and secretary of the Ramsar Environmental Secretariat.
