After three years of activity, the 45th term of the Tehran Zoroastrian Association formally ended on 18 Aban 1404 (9 November 2025). According to a resolution of the Association’s presidium, all activities—including board meetings and commission sessions—will continue uninterrupted in their usual format.
Following the close of the 45th term, Amordad’s editorial team raised several questions in an interview with Afshin Namiranian, the Association’s chairperson, concerning the timing of the final board meeting, the administrative structure going forward, and the scope of decision-making authority. In response, the Association’s Public Relations Office clarified that, with the three-year term now completed, the presidium unanimously approved the continuation of board meetings as before, with decisions ratified based on the votes of those present at the Association’s weekly sessions. The previous quorum requirement of at least fifteen members will no longer apply; votes cast by any number of attendees will be counted. This interim procedure will remain in effect until the official authorization for the 46th term is issued.
Under the bylaws of the Tehran Zoroastrian Association, once a three-year board term ends, the presidium becomes the legally recognized governing authority until the new term’s authorization is granted.
The permit for the 45th term was issued ten months after the elections held on 18 Aban 1401 (9 November 2022). The final official weekly meeting of the board took place on Tuesday, 12 Aban (approximately 3 November 2025). Images from the 12 Aban session follow.
