In the early days of Shahrivar, Dr. Behshid Barkhordar, the Zoroastrian representative in the Iranian Parliament, issued three reports covering cultural, institutional, and educational matters. The reports highlighted the allocation of four billion rials for the publication of Zoroastrian religious and Avestan texts, a formal notice directed to the chair of the Tehran Zoroastrian Association, and congratulations to students accepted into gifted schools and national entrance examinations.
Four Billion Rials for Publishing Zoroastrian Religious and Avestan Texts in Collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance
With the blessings of Ahura Mazda and through the efforts of Dr. Barkhordar, four billion rials have been allocated in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance to publish religious and Avestan books for Zoroastrian students.
Dr. Barkhordar expressed her gratitude to Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Dr. Salehi and other officials for their sincere and constructive collaboration, emphasizing that ongoing cooperation is essential to fostering unity and solidarity within the community.
Dr. Behshid Barkhordar Congratulates Students Admitted to Gifted Schools and National Examinations
“May Ahura Mazda, who shines the light of guidance upon His chosen, lead you to the gates of knowledge. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of you, ambassadors of science and wisdom, who have opened a new chapter of learning through your acceptance into gifted schools and the national entrance exams. This outstanding achievement is truly commendable, and your success brings pride to the Zoroastrian community in the Iranian Parliament.”
Strong Notice from the Zoroastrian Representative to the Chair of the Tehran Zoroastrian Association
Dr. Barkhordar emphasized: “We are all obligated to uphold the law, and the interests of our fellow Zoroastrians are a red line. In this regard, there will be no leniency toward anyone.”
She further explained: “According to the law and Article 4 of the Mobeds’ Association Statute, specifically Clause 7 concerning the issuance of religious rulings on Zoroastrian education, cultural matters, personal status, and endowments, these responsibilities fall squarely within the duties of the Mobeds’ Association. Therefore, if the Tehran Zoroastrian Association claims it does not hold jurisdiction over inheritance and personal status matters (as stated in their letter), how is it that, according to Letter No. 1404/559770 dated Shahrivar 5, 1404 (August 26, 2025), Dr. Namiranian, together with Mobed Khosraviani and Mr. Kaviani Gohari, member and secretary of the Tehran Dispute Resolution Council, attended meetings and provided detailed explanations on inheritance rules and the personal status regulations of Zoroastrians approved by the Mobeds’ Association (as confirmed by the Director General of the Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Office)?”
Dr. Barkhordar concluded by reaffirming that all parties are required to act in full compliance with the law.
