Lavij is a verdant and scenic village in Nur County, Mazandaran Province. Located on the slopes of the Alborz Mountains and close to the city of Chamestan, it lies within a charming highland area. Behbonak village is part of this beautiful region, nestled within Lavij.
Lavij’s history stretches back over 2,000 years, evidenced by a pre-Islamic inscription discovered in the area. Among its ancient relics is a structure believed to have been a fire temple, perched on a hill above the district.
The village cemetery, featuring graves known as “Gabr Graves,” reflects another facet of its long history.
