Fariz Vasania has made history by winning the gold medal in the high jump (60+ age category) at the 2025 World Masters Games, showing the world that age is no barrier to achievement.
As reported by Parsi Times, Vasania—representing India and hailing from the Dadar Zoroastrian Housing Complex—brought great pride to both the Zoroastrian community and the nation. The event, held from May 17 to 30 in Taipei, is considered the most prestigious international sporting competition for senior athletes.
This isn’t Vasania’s first success on the global stage. He previously earned a silver medal in triple jump at the 2009 Games in Sydney and a bronze in the same event in 2017 in New Zealand. His recent gold medal marks a significant highlight in his distinguished Masters athletics career.
With grit and determination, Vasania outperformed his competitors, reinforcing the idea that true strength knows no age.
Reflecting on his win, he said:
“This isn’t just my victory — it’s a victory for everyone who believes that age should never limit progress.”
The World Masters Games, often dubbed the “Olympics for Seniors,” attracted thousands of athletes from around the globe. Among them, Vasania’s inspiring performance stood out as a powerful example of perseverance, passion, and lifelong athleticism.
