Haft Chenar Wildlife and Natural History Museum – Beryanak, Tehran

The Haft Chenar Wildlife Museum is located in the historic Beryanak neighborhood of Tehran, along Qazvin Street, with convenient access to Navab Expressway and the streets of Komeil and Qazvin.

The museum is housed in a historic building from the Qajar era, named after the area’s ancient plane trees “Haft Chenar” meaning “Seven Plane Trees.” This unique structure combines traditional Iranian and European architectural elements. Originally built as a power station, the building was later repurposed as a sock factory before becoming a museum.

After undergoing extensive renovations, the museum officially opened in June 1997. It features several sections, including a cave, an aquarium, and a taxidermy workshop. Visitors can explore a wide variety of natural exhibits, including geological specimens and both live and preserved examples of invertebrates, vertebrates, aquatic creatures, reptiles, birds, and mammals.

The museum grounds also offer additional amenities, including a library, a coffee shop, and a traditional Persian teahouse. It is located just north of Beryanak Square, at the eastern corner of Daavati Street.
