Farshad Salamati, Former member of the board of directors of Tehran zoroastrian Association, passed away

The late Farshad Salamati, who served as a member of the Services Commission and the Religious, Cultural, and Educational Commission during the 45th term of the Tehran Zoroastrian Association, as well as a writer and researcher, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024 (2nd of Dey 1403).

Born on March 21, 1975 (1st of Farvardin 1354) in Tehran, Farshad Salamati departed this life on December 22, 2024, in Tehran, coinciding with the day of Dey to Azar.

The burial ceremony is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 (4th of Dey, Aban Izad), at the Ghasre Firouzeh Cemetery in Tehran.

To facilitate transportation for the Zoroastrian community, buses will leave at 9:00 AM from Sanaei Square and Salmas Square, heading to Ghasre Firouzeh.

The third-day memorial will be held at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 (Aban Izad), and the fourth-day memorial will take place at 5:00 AM on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 (Khorshid Izad), both at the Narges House.

The main memorial service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 (7th of Dey), from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Iradj Hall.

Below is the biography of the late Farshad Salamati, provided by his family to Amordad.

Farshad Salamati, a geology graduate from Islamic Azad University, Tehran North Branch, worked with international companies in his field and held a black belt in self-defense. He was also an international martial arts referee.

In 1387 (2008), he married Shirin Mazda-Pour and left behind two children, Morvarid and Firouzeh.

Diagnosed with bone marrow cancer and a spinal tumor in 1401 (2022), he endured two years of treatment before passing away on December 22, 2024 (2nd of Dey 1403), at Iranshahr Hospital. Despite his illness, he served as a member of the Tehran Zoroastrian Association, continuing his work until his final days.

Salamati authored books on oil and textiles and co-wrote two incomplete works. Accepted into a geology master’s program at the University of Tehran in 1401, he could not pursue it due to his health.
