At the memorial ceremony for Engineer Parviz Ravani, Mehrdad Ghadrdan emphasized the Zoroastrian principle of Asha (truth and righteousness) in his speech, describing Ravani’s contributions as a reflection of this ideal.
As the main speaker, Ghadrdan provided a concise overview of Ravani’s life and achievements, highlighting his role as a Zoroastrian representative in the fourth and fifth parliamentary terms and his dedicated service to the community, which exemplified the spirit of Asha.
Afshin Namiranian, head of the Tehran Zoroastrian Association, encouraged the preparation of commemorative writings to honor and preserve the legacy of community leaders like Parviz Ravani.
Sohrab Salamaty, Chair of the Sharifabad Zoroastrian Association in Tehran (Asha), highlighted Engineer Parviz Ravani’s exceptional contributions and shared messages of condolence from numerous organizations.
He read messages from Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Parliament, as well as from the Tehran Zoroastrian Women’s Organization, the Tehran Zoroastrian Association, the Forouhar Organization, Zoroastrian associations in Yazd, Karaj, and Shiraz, and other groups. Behshid Barkhordar, the Zoroastrian representative in Parliament, expressed regret for being unable to attend.
Salamaty also noted condolence messages on Amordad and Barsaad websites and acknowledged the Asha Association for organizing the event in honor of Ravani’s service.
Esfandiar Ekhtiari, a former Zoroastrian representative in Parliament, reflected on Parviz Ravani’s journey to becoming a Member of Parliament. He noted that Ravani’s early leadership as a student association head prepared him for greater responsibilities, ultimately enabling him to restore calm and unity to the Zoroastrian community during his tenure.
The memorial for late Parviz Ravani, who served as the Zoroastrian representative in the 4th and 5th terms of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, took place on Dey-be-Azar day in Azar month (Friday, 2nd Azar 1403), at the Iradj Hall from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., beginning with Avesta recitations by Mobed Ardeshir Mehrabani.
Born in Shahrivar 1331 (August 1952), Ravani held a master’s degree in architecture and urban planning. He passed away in Canada on November 11, 2023 (21 Aban 1403 Gregorian calendar), joining the eternal light.
