The Zoroastrian Association of Tehran organized a gathering to celebrate and express gratitude for the efforts of Zoroastrian medical professionals. On Thursday, the 8th of Shahrivar 1403 (August 29, 2024), corresponding to Tir Izad and Shahrivar month, the association hosted a ceremony at 18:00 at the Khosravi Conference Hall. The event honored doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and paramedics, presenting them with plaques of appreciation.
Faramarz Pourrostami, the spokesperson for the 45th Zoroastrian Association of Tehran, served as the moderator for the event. The ceremony included the screening of a clip from the Yeganegi Clinic and speeches from several prominent figures. Mehrangiz Shahzadi, former chairperson of the Tehran Zoroastrian Women’s Organization, Ardeshir Khosrovani, a member of the Tehran Zoroastrian Association and the program manager and coordinator, Afshin Namiranian, president of the Tehran Zoroastrian Association, and Esfandiar Ekhtiari, former representative of Zoroastrians in the Parliament, all addressed the attendees. They spoke about the importance of doctors and the contributions of the medical staff, praising them on this special day.
The first day of Shahrivar month is designated as Doctor’s Day, coinciding with the birthday of the renowned Persian physician Ibn Sina.
