The Shabash ceremony was held simultaneously with the birthday of Ashu Zarathushtra, in Kasnavieh Darbe Mehr.

“Shabash” is one of the ceremonies that Zoroastrians hold on the birthday of Ashu Zarathushtra and call it the “grand Nowrooz” celebration or “Hafdero”. In this ceremony each household gives a donation to the fire temple for its upkeep. On Sunday, Farvardin 6, 1402 (March 27th) several Zoroastrians gathered in the Darbe Mehr of Kasnavieh and participated in the shabash ceremony together with celebration of the birthday of Ashu Zarathushtra, the Aryan messenger. Shabash started at 7 pm. In this ceremony donations are given to the fire keeper, in the name of the deceased or ancestors or for the good health of the living.

Khordad day of the month of Farvardin is considered, among Iranians, an auspicious day and they call it “grand Nowrooz” or Hafderu (Hafzero), “Hozoro.” This celebration is the day on which seventy-two important events took place. Ashu Zarathustra’s birthday, the anniversary of becoming a prophet, and the anniversary of the religious conversion of Goshtasb, the King of Iran at that time, are three of the seventy-two important events.
