Opening ceremony of Yazd Zoroastrian Library

The Yazd Zoroastrian Library (named after Banoo and Keykhosrow Bozorgchami) was reopened in the space donated by the Late Kadkhoda, in the Verahram Fire temple, with the efforts of Yazd Zoroastrian Association.

The reopening ceremony of Yazd Zoroastrian Library was held in presence of members of Yazd Zoroastrian Association’s board of directors and other community members, in the space donated by ravanshad (late) Kadkhoda, in Verahram Fire Temple. The program started with Avesta recitation by Mobed Rostam Kavoosianzadeh. Bahar Delshad, the program host, welcomed the audience, and greeted them on the upcoming Mehregan celebration and narrated a part of the history of the Bozorgchami library to the audience. Sepanta Niknam, the head of the Yazd Zoroastrian Association, spoke about the reopening of the library, its future goals, various sections of the library, the introduction of benefactors, and other points in this field.

In presence of members of the board of directors, Fariba Mali, Sepanta Niknam, Kourosh Rashidi, and Rostam Bahram Farshid, the good deed of Fereydoon Goshtasbi, one of the benefactors of this library, was commemorated. Fereydoon Goshtasbi spoke about his memories and experiences to the audience. In conclusion, the opening ribbon was cut in presence of the audience, and the library was officially reopened.

The idea of opening a library was initiated by Keykhosrow Bozorgchami, and in 1385 (2006) he opened it in the name of his wife, Banoo, on the second floor of Bozorgchami Hall. After the reconstruction and improvement of the hall in the collection donated by ravanshad Kadakhoda, this library was transferred to the Verahram fire temple in Yazd.
