Hafez Statue Awarded to Keynaz Yazdani, Zoroastrian Artist

Keynaz Yazdani, a talented Zoroastrian artist, was honored with a Hafez statue during the Hafez Commemoration Night.

On Saturday evening, Mehr 19, 1404 (October 10, 2025), the Yazd Culture and Art Group presented the statue to Keynaz Yazdani in recognition of her achievements. Speaking to Amordad, she explained:

“At the Friday visit program held at the Nersiabad Fire Temple, my students and I performed music. As a Zoroastrian woman who has been able to establish a music school and organize performances, they wanted to honor me at the Hafez gathering.”

In Ordibehesht 1404 (April 2025), she founded the Nazshid Music Academy, where students can learn santoor, qanun, violin, guitar, tar, setar, piano, daf, tonbak, hang drum, Arabic flute, ney-anban, Iranian singing, voice training, and Orff music for children.

Keynaz Yazdani’s Musical Journey

Keynaz Yazdani, an accomplished daf and cajón player, began her formal music education in 1391 (2012–2013) by attending classes with Master Golabi at the Markar Campus in Yazd. In 1393 (2014–2015), she studied for several months under Master Nasirizadeh, followed by a year of training with Master Nezafat. She also spent a year in Isfahan learning from Master Rouzali-Zadeh, and further honed her skills in Tehran under Masters Rezaeinia, Darbandi, and Hadadi.

Since 1396 (2017–2018), Keynaz has been teaching at Raz Music Academy and later collaborated with Mahanam and Pol Music Academies. Alongside managing Nazshid Music Academy—meaning “Beautiful Daughter of the Sun”—she continues her collaborations with these academies. Her son, Karen, also teaches tonbak and hang drum at Nazshid Music Academy.
