Dr. Behshid Barkhordar, the Zoroastrian representative in the Iranian Parliament, visited the renowned Anoushiravan J. Tata and Firouz Bahram high schools, underscoring the vital role of education in sustainable development. During the visit, she announced the commencement of restoration and renovation projects for Zoroastrian legacy schools in Tehran and Yazd, supported by allocated development funds.
The visit, held on Sunday, Shahrivar 9, 1404 (August 31, 2025), highlighted the launch of the second phase of restoration, renovation, and reconstruction projects for these schools. Dr. Barkhordar emphasized that schools must provide the highest standards across all educational dimensions, as they shape the nation’s future leaders. These efforts are the result of recent, round-the-clock work, aimed at activating previously untapped potential within these institutions.
She further noted that with the collaboration of associations, organizations, and schools, along with project-based proposals, it would be possible to secure up to one trillion rials in funding for the development of Zoroastrian institutions, while currently only 400 billion rials have been allocated.
Dr. Behshid Barkhordar underscored that the Zoroastrian legacy schools in Tehran and Yazd are not only important educational institutions but also possess significant capacities to enhance students’ overall quality of life.
She emphasized that Firouz Bahram and Anoushiravan high schools have exceptional potential. With the collaboration of school administrators and the Tehran Zoroastrian Association, these schools could be elevated to the level of Tehran’s premier institutions, such as the Alborz Legacy School—a vision supported by both the schools’ principals and their boards.
At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Barkhordar expressed her gratitude to Sohrab Salamati, Kambiz Mizaniyan, Maziar Salamati, Roshanak Shahriari, and school administrators Tahereh Farzami and Bahram Boroumand for their participation. She highlighted that thoughtful and ethical collaboration is essential for the progress of the Zoroastrian community and encouraged fellow Zoroastrians to contribute to development during their lifetimes. In turn, the school administrators expressed their appreciation for the support provided by the Zoroastrian representative.
The Firouz Bahram and Anoushiravan high schools, together with the Anoushiravan Dadgar Legacy School (girls) and Firouz Bahram Art School (boys), are part of the six schools overseen by the Tehran Zoroastrian Association.
