The History Working Group of the Tariyana Cultural Heritage Association in Khuzestan organized a group exhibition of paintings and designs titled Marz-e Por-Gohar, held from Wednesday, July 8, for three days at Pooneh Gallery.
Ashkan Zarei, secretary of the History Working Group, stated that the exhibition aimed to honor cultural heritage through the medium of art.
He explained that 45 artists depicted the history and culture of Khuzestan and Iran—ranging from architectural landmarks and handicrafts to scholars and heroes—through painting and design under the guidance of Fatemeh Karami Soleimani.
Fatemeh Karami Soleimani, a member of Tariyana, worked with students and collaborators aged 11 to 46. They created their pieces in a realistic style using techniques such as charcoal, colored pencils, oil paints, rapidograph, pastel, and more.
The exhibition attracted a large and enthusiastic audience from Ahvaz, whose attendance reflected a strong appreciation for national identity. In addition, several artists, activists, university professors, and city and provincial officials visited the event.
Zarei expressed hope that the Tariyana History Working Group’s approach to organizing Marz-e Por-Gohar—which highlights the continuity and resilience of Iran’s history and the unity of its people—will pave the way for new ways of showcasing Iranian culture and civilization in Khuzestan’s exhibitions.
