Keshvar Khanom Mazdayasna dedicated 44 years of her life to education and became one of the most influential teachers and principals at Shahriyari and Keykhosrow Shahrokh elementary schools in Kerman. She retired in Mehr 1349 (October 1970) and passed away on 21 Aban 1369 (November 1990). Her memory will always be cherished.
Born in 1290 (1911) in Kerman, Keshvar Khanom received her early education at Jamshidi School, established through the philanthropy of Arbab Jamshid and managed by his wife, Morvarid Khanom. She excelled academically, completing the fourth grade there with distinction. In 1305 (1926), she began her teaching career at Shahroyari School. During her teaching years, she completed her own sixth-grade education, advanced to secondary school, and earned a scientific diploma in 1315 (1936).
Her remarkable journey remains a testament to her dedication to education and her lasting impact on the Zoroastrian community in Kerman. She worked for nine years, initially earning a monthly salary of 90 rials, which later increased to 250 rials in 1315 (1936). In 1332 (1953), she was appointed as the principal of Keykhosrow Shahrokh Girls’ National High School, and in 1333 (1954), she was officially hired by the Ministry of Education. By 1334 (1955), she was managing the school and had earned a diploma from the Elementary Teachers’ College.
Keshvar Khanom Mazdayasna’s hard work and dedication not only made her a prominent figure in the field of education but also established her as a role model among Zoroastrian educators. She made significant contributions to preserving cultural values and advancing the teachings of Zoroastrianism.
