Golden statue of UNESCO to Kamand Kaviani for Shahnameh recitation

At the national polo event, Kamand Kaviani, Shahnameh reciter, was awarded the golden statue of UNESCO, as a sign of world registration.

The opening ceremony of the national polo event was held on the 7th and 8th of Dey 1402 in the special economic zone of the New Bam Citadel, in presence of state and provincial authorities.  In this ceremony, Kamand Kaviani performed one of the stories of Shahnameh, about the meeting of Zal and Rudabeh.  In the final ceremony, the golden statue of UNESCO (symbolic of world registration) was awarded to this Zoroastrian/Kermani artist by the New Bam Citadel and the National Polo Federation for performing Shahnameh reading. The national polo ceremony continued with the holding of polo matches and various programs, and it was also broadcast live on the antenna network.

In the opening ceremony of the national polo event, Asghar Nazeri, the head of the Polo Federation, and Abdul Mahdi Mostakin, the deputy secretary general of the UNESCO National Commission. Ms. Momeni, the Director of Iran’s Intangible Heritage Center, Maryam Kazemipour, the deputy minister of sports and youth, the head of the provincial affairs department of the Ministry of Sports; The Economic Vice President of Kerman Governorate, the Director of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and the President of Kerman Chamber of Commerce were present. Also, we can mention actors and artists such as Babak Nouri, Nada Hosseini, Ardeshir Monazam, Hamidreza Pegah, Abbas Jamshidifar, Sharareh Rokham, Shahrazad Abdul Majid, Majid Majdi and Kourosh Kabiri.
