The Zoroastrian Chamber of Commerce of Iran meeting with the approach of water management was hosted by the Tehran Zoroastrians Association on Saturday, 11th Shahrivar (September 2023) to study the possibility of implementing some projects in the Zoroastrian Shohada garden.
This meeting started with speech of Eng. Toos Dehnadi about plants and their different water consumption; type of agriculture; how to help conserve water and soil, and cultivation of medicinal plants that can have added value with low water consumption, and observing hygienic codes when harvesting agricultural products, to increase its market value. In collaboration with Tehran Zoroastrian Association and Zoroastrian Chamber of Commerce, this meeting was coordinated to create a think tank to examine the plans that can be implemented in the Garden of Zoroastrian Martyrs.
Faramarz Pourrostami informed the residents about the characteristics of the Garden of Martyrs. Then Sasan Niknam, the endowment commission chairman, explained the garden’s status. Dr Mehraban Ardeshirian gave information about investors who are interested in seeing expert plans and said that the chamber of commerce can be of help and act as facilitator by creating a think tank for investment and preparation of economic programs for the agricultural land. Next was Arman Sepanta who explained about building a greenhouse and that greenhouses require between 5 and 20 billion tomans capital per hectare, based on the technology used. He added that the government will give loans with low interest rate. The time needed for return of capital is about 4 hears; and in order to generate funds cooperative companies can be created with shares from fellow Zoroastrians. In this way funds in the community are generated and employment is created; thus, benefiting the Associations and fellow Zoroastrians; and also, the experience gained can be applied to other similar properties. Eng. Kourosh Azargoshasb, deputy president of Tehran Zoroastrian Association, emphasized on supporting such projects and creating jobs, to help prevent youth migration.
