Report on the preparation of the Sadeh ceremony in Karaj

Sadeh festival is one of the ancient festivals of ancient Iran, which is held every year on the 10th of Bahman in Karaj at the same time as other Zoroastrian cities, and every year this ceremony is accompanied by various programs such as recitals, happy comedy shows, children’s rhythmic movements, Shahnameh reading and lectures about the roots of Sadeh religion, but none of these programs were implemented this year.
One of the most famous festivals held in the month of Bahman every year in different cities of Iran is the Sadeh festival. The ancient tradition of celebrating Sadeh among Zoroastrians is of particular importance. It is a celebration full of light and joy, and attracts people from different cities and regions. Mehran Zendehnoosh, head of the Zoroastrian Association of Karaj and coordinator of this ceremony, said: “Before the corona problem rose, this ceremony would be held with a variety of joyful programs. But, for 2 years, due to coronavirus, it was held in absentia. This year, this ceremony was held in Dowlat House in Karaj, but the program was different from the years before corona, it was short and compact.
Preparations by Rostam Khosraviani, the group that lit the fire: Forozan Rostami Asrabadi, Ava Zendehnoosh, Parsa and Mahtab Khosroviani, Peyman and Porchista Khosroviani, Avesta recited by Mobed Goodarz, and Parvin Bozorgi, wife of Shahjahan Farhang, was responsible for the reception. Zendehnoosh thanked all those who help in organizing this event.
