Behshid Barkhordar, the Zoroastrian representative in parliament, together with other representatives of monotheistic religions, issued a statement following the successful Sadiq 2 operation, which took place on the evening of Tuesday, Mehr 10, 1403.
Below is the text of the statement, shared with the Amخrdad website by Behshid Barkhordar:
“The oppressive, child-killing regime of Israel and its international and regional supporters, especially its primary backer, global arrogance, must recognize that the Islamic Republic of Iran has never initiated any war since the victory of the revolution, nor will it ever. However, in defending its legitimate rights, Iran will respond to any aggression with unmatched strength and power, ensuring that every malicious aggressor will regret their actions.
In accordance with the laws and charters of the United Nations, and in response to the Zionist regime’s aggressive actions—violating Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and martyring both an official guest of the Islamic Republic and the Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon, as well as brigadier general Nilforoushan, Iran’s Supreme Military Advisor in Beirut—Iran’s armed forces exercised their inherent right to self-defense. On Tuesday evening, they carried out precise and decisive missile strikes against the military and security targets of this regime, acting with authority, intelligence, and careful planning.”
The Islamic Republic of Iran’s appeal to God and its long-term self-restraint demonstrate Iran’s responsible approach toward maintaining regional and international peace and security. This comes at a time when the illegal and genocidal actions of the Zionist apartheid regime against the Palestinian people, as well as the regime’s repeated military aggression against Lebanon and Syria, persist.
If necessary, the Islamic Republic of Iran is fully prepared to take further defensive actions to safeguard its legitimate interests and to defend the nation’s territorial integrity and sovereignty against any military aggression or illegal use of force. There will be no hesitation in taking such measures if required.
We, the representatives of monotheistic religious communities in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, congratulate the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khamenei, the proud nation of Iran, and all freedom-loving people of the world on this significant victory. We pray for peace and strength.
