Behshid Barkhordar, the elected representative of Zoroastrians and a member of the Yazd Markar Board of Trustees, has shared some points to clarify recent changes regarding the management of the Markar University of Yazd. These remarks were made in a note titled ” Hasty decisions made by Tehran Zoroastrian Association’s constitution, upto the resolution of Marker campus, Yazd.”
Dr Behshid Barkhordar has expressed her concerns regarding the hasty decisions of Tehran Zoroastrian Association and has given her comments, for the information of fellow Zoroastrians, in a letter to Amordad, which reads as follows:
Based on existing resolution and documented agreements made during the tenure of the late Dr Niknam, during his representation in the parliament, Marker campus, Yazd, has been managed by a board of trustees, right upto September 5, 2024 (corresponding to the 79th meeting of the Association). And now, the Tehran association has decided to change the management of this center from board of trustees to board of executives, without inviting the members of the board of trustees to their meeting. It seems that this haste in revising the Association’s constitution and changing the management of the Markar Yazd campus requires deeper consideration and raises questions.
As a representative of Zoroastrians and a member of the Markar Yazd Board of Trustees, I deem it important and necessary share the following points with my fellow Zoroastrians.
To introduce such changes to the management of Marker campus, Yazd, Tehran Association should have invited all members of the board of trustees, particularly president of Yazd Zoroastrian Association, and myself as member, for purpose of clarification.
It is recommended that the management of the Markar campus in Yazd remains under the supervision of the board of trustees. If necessary, the board can elect an executive board.
The selected executive board should carry out its duties under the supervision and guidance of the board of trustees.
In conclusion, if needed, supporting documents will be provided to clarify these matters.
