The ascent took place on Friday, 7 Azar 1404, with the team descending via an alternate route.
The program unfolded as follows:
The team departed Salmas Square at 4:40 a.m. and reached the village of Shur-e Ghazi roughly an hour later. After leaving the asphalt road and continuing along a side path, they parked near the Kian Kansar factory. The hike began at 6:20 a.m., and after a brief stretch in the opposite direction, the group joined the main trail overlooking the seasonal Shur-e Ghazi River valley. The initial terrain consisted of soft soil—sometimes dry, compact, and cracked—creating varied footing conditions. The appearance of small hoof-like tracks along the path also prompted lively discussion among the climbers.
The group continued its ascent by crossing the valley and moving through remarkable rock formations, advancing over a mix of gentle and steep inclines. Short breaks along the route allowed members to enjoy the scenic stone figures, natural shapes that drew every hiker’s attention, and to capture commemorative photos. At 11:20 a.m., the team reached the 1,450-meter summit of Tala Peak, also known as Kuh-e Sorkh due to its distinctive red coloration. After breakfast, a brief rest, and taking final summit photos, the descent began at 12:10 p.m. along a different route.
The return path involved varied terrain with frequent rises and dips, occasionally requiring handholds to navigate more technical rocky sections. At 3:30 p.m., the climbers paused for rest and lunch before continuing along the long final stretch. The group arrived back at the parking area at 6:00 p.m., completing a 24-kilometer route. After a short break, they began the drive back to Tehran, with all members arriving safely around 8:00 p.m.
Tala Peak, also known by the names Taj-e Khorous and Makresh, is located in the Pishva-Varamin desert region, approximately 20 kilometers from Pishva.

The Tehran Zoroastrian Mountaineering Group successfully completed an ascent of Tala Peak, also known as Kuh-e Sorkh, during a scheduled mountaineering program.
