A memorial ceremony honoring the late Rostam Keykhosrow Felfeli, founder of electricity in Narsiabad, and his late wife, Morvarid Beman, was held with a Gahanbar recitation at Yazdabadi School (Pir-e Rish-Sefid).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ceremony took place on Ohrmazd day of the month of Aban in the Zoroastrian calendar, corresponding to Friday, Mehr 25, 1404 (October 17, 2025). It began at 4 p.m. with prayers led by Mobeds Mehrban Afrin and Iraj Dahmobed. A group of Zoroastrians and friends gathered to honor and remember the late couple.<\/p>\n

Following the prayers, Kurosh Navae Yazdan, head of the Narsiabad Zoroastrian Association, delivered a speech commemorating the late Rostam Felfeli for his goodwill and community service. The children and teenagers attending the spiritual gathering were then encouraged and appreciated. The ceremony concluded with the serving of ash (a traditional soup).<\/p>\n

The memorial was organized by Mehraban Rostam Felfeli, son of the late couple.<\/p>\n

The late Rostam Keykhosrow Felfeli (Shekel) was born in 1918 (1297 Solar Hijri) in Narsiabad, Yazd, and passed away in 1958 (1337 Solar Hijri) due to an accident while working to bring electricity to the Narsiabad neighborhood, when the wheel of a generator fell on his leg, causing severe bleeding. His memory lives on.<\/p>\n

The Pir-e Rish-Sefid shrine is located within the grounds of the Rostam Khodadad Yazdabadi Elementary School, which was built 111 years ago. In the summer of 2011 (1390 Solar Hijri), the site was renovated and restored thanks to the efforts of local youths and the Narsiabad Zoroastrian Association. For generations, it has served as a place of recreation and physical activity for the youth of Narsiabad \u2014 particularly during the summer months, when young people spend much of their time there engaging in sports and outdoor activities.<\/p>\n

During the restoration, the building\u2019s traditional architecture was carefully preserved, and old objects were added to emphasize its historic charm and heritage.<\/p>\n

About Gahanbar-e Toji<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gahanbar-e Toji is a type of gahanbar (Zoroastrian thanksgiving ceremony) that may be held at any time of the year except on the official gahanbar dates. These ceremonies are organized collectively by members of the Zoroastrian community to express gratitude for health and happiness or to give thanks for recovery from illness and relief from hardship.<\/p>\n

Today, Zoroastrian associations and organizations often hold Gahanbar-e Toji during monthly celebrations, the Sadeh Festival, the commemoration of the passing of Ashu Zarathushtra, and the anniversaries of the reopening of religious and cultural centers.<\/p>\n
