She was the daughter of Jabbar Baghcheban, a pioneer in deaf education in Iran.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Born on 4 Farvardin 1306 (March 24, 1927), Baghchehban graduated from the Higher Teachers\u2019 College with a degree in English. She later received a scholarship to study in the United States, focusing on education for the deaf. Upon returning to Iran, she joined her father in teaching at a school for the deaf, dedicating her life to supporting children with hearing impairments.<\/p>\n<p>Baghchehban earned a master\u2019s degree in Deaf Education from Columbia University and also pursued studies in speech therapy at the same institution.<\/p>\n<p>Among her enduring contributions to children\u2019s literature are Wooden Sequins, Nowruz and Kites, and the folk song I Ran and I Ran, works that continue to inspire young readers across generations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Samineh Baghchehban, renowned author of children\u2019s and young adult literature and founder of educational and cultural programs for hearing-impaired and deaf children, has passed away at the age of 98.
