When exploring the ancient area of “Izgam Dasht” in Ramsar County, Mazandaran Province, archaeologists found 17 graves from the Middle Bronze Age and “Iron Age I.”<\/p>\n
According to ISNA and according to the public relations of the Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, Mohammad Reza Khaltabari, the head of the Izgam Dasht archeological team, said: “Exploration of this unique ancient site in the west of Mazandaran started in 1396, and artifacts from the middle bronze age, iron age, historic age and Islamic period were found.”<\/p>\n
The academic staff member of the Institute of Archeology added: The result of the first chapter of exploring this ancient site was published in a book titled: “Ramsar in the bed of history” and was met with great success by the cultural communities of Ramsar city.<\/p>\n
He continued: Considering the importance of the topic, the second season of exploring this ancient area was resumed after a six-year break due to various reasons, such as the emergence and spread of the coronavirus in 1402.<\/p>\n
Khalatbari said: So far, the expedition team has been able to identify various parts of this ancient cemetery from a chronological point of view: 17 large stone graves, four stone graves, Dalman, etc., surviving from the Middle Bronze Age (1600-2000 BC) and “iron age I” from 1350 to 1000 BC.<\/p>\n
A member of the Institute of Archeology academic staff, pointing out that the excavation of each identified grave is ongoing, added: The expedition team in 1402 is accompanied by archaeologists, biological anthropologists, architects, surveyors, designers, etc.<\/p>\n
In the end, the head of the Izgam Dasht Archaeological Committee said: “We hope that with the completion of the field research work of this cemetery and conducting laboratory research regarding precise dating, genetics, nutrition, etc., the results of this season’s exploration will be published in a book titled: “Ramsar in the bed of history (2)”, like previously done.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
