The Zoroastrian Association of Yazd held its second session on “Traditions and Treatment of the Deceased in Contemporary Zoroastrianism”, featuring Dr. Bahman Moradian, PhD in Ancient Culture and Languages, as the speaker.
The session took place on Monday, 8th of Dey 1404 (Gush-e Izad in the Zoroastrian calendar, 3763) at 5:00 PM in Yazd’s Bozorgchami Hall. Dr. Moradian spoke on the practice of dakhmah (sky burial), its historical development, changes in burial customs, and a comparison of past and recent practices.
A visit to the Zoroastrian dakhmah in Yazd was also organized on Friday, 12th of Dey 1404 (Rashn-e Izad, 3763) at 10:30 AM.
The Association welcomed interested community members to attend both events.
