The Zoroastrian Association of Yazd held its Extraordinary Annual General Assembly for the second time, during which the transfer of the Seti Pir property deed from the Yazd Association to the Maryamabad Zoroastrian Association was approved.
The session opened with Gatha recitations by Mobed Fariba Mali. Rostam Kavousianzadeh (Chair), Esfandiar Najmi (Observer), Roxana Iraji (overseer), and Simin Aryaienejad (Secretary) were confirmed in their roles, officially legitimizing the assembly.
Mehrdad Khosrevani, Cultural Officer of the Yazd Zoroastrian Association, welcomed attendees and presented the meeting agenda. This agenda was the same as the one from the session previously held on Friday, 25 Mehr 1404 (October 16, 2025), which had been nullified because the term “Extraordinary” was missing from the original announcement.
During the assembly, members of Yazd’s Zoroastrian community were reminded to collect their Zoroastrian identification cards to attend the upcoming Sadeh Festival.
The Extraordinary Annual General Assembly of the Zoroastrian Association of Yazd was held on Friday, 28 Azar 1404 (December 19, 2025) at 4:00 PM in Bozorgchami Hall, with the presence of Mirza Khalili, representative of the Yazd Governor’s Office.
Kourosh Rashidi, Chair of the Association, presented a report on the board of directors’ activities over the past year. The annual financial report was delivered by the association’s accountant, Rashid Mavandadi, and the audit report was presented by Jamshid Behshad. Both reports were approved by the assembly. The members also selected Peyman Yazd newspaper as the official outlet for publishing the association’s announcements.
The assembly then proceeded with the election of auditors. Khodabakhsh Mobed, retired from Bank Melli, and Jamshid Behshad, also retired from Bank Melli and a two-time board candidate, were nominated. After voting, Khodabakhsh Mobed was elected principal auditor with 102 votes, while Jamshid Behshad was elected deputy auditor with 73 votes, out of a total of 175 votes cast.
Sohrab Firouzfar, board member of the Yazd Zoroastrian Association, spoke about transferring the Seti Pir shrine deed to the Maryamabad Zoroastrian Association. A vote on the transfer resulted in 122 votes in favor, 46 against, and three invalid ballots out of 171 votes cast, approving the transfer.
Additionally, Keykhosrow Rostami, an employee of Yazd Municipality, addressed the assembly during the session.
