Diniyari Elementary School held two themed celebrations in the month of Aban, honoring both water and the Avesta.
First-grade boys marked the beginning of their Avesta studies and religious instruction with a ceremony at the Varahram Fire Temple in Yazd. Organized by principal Fariba Gheibi and first-grade teacher Frank Mavandadi, the event took place on Shahrivar Izad Day in Azarmah 3763 of the Zoroastrian calendar, corresponding to Wednesday, 19 November 2025 (28 Aban 1404). At the end of the ceremony, each student received the book entitled “Learning the Avesta” along with a gift.
Another celebration, also coordinated by Fariba Gheibi and Faranak Mavandadi, was held on Wednesday, 29 October 2025 (7 Aban 1404). First-grade students celebrated learning to read and write the word “water.” During this event, the children practiced writing the word and learned about the importance of water and the need to use it wisely.
Diniyari Elementary School is the only boys’ school dedicated to Zoroastrian students in Yazd Province.
