Emphasizing Health Precautions During Community Gatherings

It is highly appropriate for professionals in various fields, beyond the general advisories issued by public health authorities, to share community-specific guidance through Zoroastrian media outlets.

While the author of this note is not a medical specialist, the following recommendation is presented in light of seasonal health warnings and the rise of common infections during this time of year. It is hoped that, upon review and endorsement by the community’s healthcare experts, this guidance will be formally communicated to the public.

Considering that universities and schools in Yazd have temporarily moved to online learning and that repeated alerts have been issued about seasonal outbreaks—particularly influenza—it is advised that all associations and media outlets include the following message whenever announcing gatherings such as book discussions, Avesta recitations, or visits to sacred sites:

“Given the season and the current spread of contagious illnesses, individuals experiencing cold symptoms or any condition that may weaken their immune system are encouraged to refrain from attending this event. Other participants are advised to wear masks, when possible, maintain physical distance, and avoid handshakes or close contact. Adhering to this health guidelines can help protect and save lives.”
