An exhibition showcasing Hossein Qanavati’s relief calligraphy, featuring verses from Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh, opened on 23 Aban 1404 / November 14, 2025, at the Iran Artists’ House.
The exhibition will run until 29 Aban / November 20, 2025. Visitors can view the works today from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bahar Gallery in the Iran Artists’ House.
The exhibition preface highlights:
“This is a celebration of a culture and civilization rooted in truth and prosperity, where every Iranian bears the responsibility of justice and freedom. It is a call against oppression, reminding us that it is shameful for the land of Iran to be left in ruin.”
Hossein Qanavati, a distinguished Iranian writer, poet, and calligrapher, has applied his innovative relief (“baramad”) technique to these works, transforming Ferdowsi’s verses into visually striking raised calligraphy on paper.
