The Melbourne Zoroastrian community celebrated as Dilnaz Bilimoria received the Multiculturalism Promotion Award at the 2025 Victorian Senior of the Year Awards, held on October 22, 2025, at Government House.
Dilnaz, an Indian Australian of Zoroastrian heritage, has dedicated over two decades to empowering seniors from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds in Victoria, ensuring they feel heard, valued, and included. Her lifelong work has focused on building bridges between communities through dialogue, education, and compassion.
A founding member of the Whitehorse Interfaith Network (WIN) and former board member of the Council of Cultural Communities in Ethnic Affairs (CCOEI) and Women’s Health East, she has played a pivotal role in bringing leaders from different faiths and cultures together for meaningful engagement.
Beyond advocacy, she supports senior groups by mentoring older women, assisting with applications and financial reporting, and offering translation services, helping multicultural seniors access the tools and opportunities they need to thrive.
COTA Victoria commended her work:
“Dilnaz’s energy and dedication have created lasting, practical change and strengthened social resilience.”
Her commitment reflects the Zoroastrian values of service, truth, and community development, demonstrating how faith and civic involvement can inspire positive social change.
