Mobed Dr. Mehraban Pouladi Leads Ayathrem Gahanbar Ceremony at the World Zoroastrian Organization

Mobed Dr. Mehraban Pouladi, chair of the Council of Mobeds of Iran, led the Ayathrem Gahanbar ceremony on the opening day of the festival at the World Zoroastrian Organization (WZO).

Held on Sunday, Mehr 20, 1404 SH (October 12, 2025), coinciding with Ashtad day of the month of Mehr, 3763 in the Zoroastrian calendar, the event featured a spiritual Mithra prayer service along with a talk on the philosophy and meaning of the Gahanbar.

During the gathering, Mobed Pouladi recited from the Avesta and performed the Mithra Niyayesh, filling the hall with an atmosphere of light and devotion. He then spoke about the origins and significance of the Mehregan festival and the Ayathrem Gahanbar, responding to participants’ questions on religious topics.

The ceremony, held with great enthusiasm at the WZO Hall in London, reflected the spirit of harmony and reverence for ancient Iranian traditions among the Zoroastrian community. Guests were treated to dinner, sweets, tea, and coffee, and the atmosphere of friendship and togetherness lasted until the end of the evening.

The program began at 2:00 p.m. and continued until 8:00 p.m., becoming one of the most memorable and heartfelt events of the year for the Zoroastrian community.
