Tehran Zoroastrian House of Culture and Arts Marks One-Year Anniversary

The House of Culture and Arts of Tehran Zoroastrians celebrated its one-year anniversary with a ceremony honoring its teachers and students.

The event was held on Thursday evening, Mehr 3, 1404, at the Mehrbanoo Hall of the House of Culture and Arts, organized by the institution’s Executive Board. Guests gathered to show appreciation for the educators and learners who have been part of the center’s journey over the past year.

The program opened with the recitation of Gathas hymns by Niosha Peyman and Sepanta Javidan.

In her welcoming remarks, Mitra Jamshidi, secretary of the Executive Board, briefly outlined the center’s activities and thanked benefactors and the Tehran Zoroastrian Association for their continued support.

Afshin Namiranian, chair of the Tehran Zoroastrian Association, addressed the audience, followed by Bozargmehr Parkhideh, who spoke about his Zoroastrian history classes held on Thursdays, and Mobed Sarvar Taraporevala, who introduced the mythology courses.

The ceremony concluded with a formal appreciation of the instructors: Mobed Sarvar Taraporevala (mythology), Bozargmehr Parkhideh (Zoroastrian history), and Mahsa Farkhani (piano and Orff).

The celebration featured a rich lineup of artistic performances:

  • Piano by Negin Khodadadi
  • Shahnameh recitation by Mitra Mostaghni, with a tribute to instructor Babak Salamati
  • Children’s dance performed by Tania Namiranian, Rayti Jamshidi, Ronika Rostami, Bita Bastani, and Bahar Javidani, under the direction of Morvarid Nowzari
  • Piano by Vista Shirmardi
  • Santur by Sarvenaz Parsimehr, with recognition of instructor Salehi
  • Vocal performance by Aida Namiri and Arshia Namiri, accompanied on setar, tonbak, and piano, with thanks to instructor Hossein Shabani
  • Screening of a video showcasing the House of Culture and Arts’ first year of activities
  • Daf by Bahar Bakhtiari and Delsa Dinyarian
  • Tonbak by Behrad Mozhgani, with acknowledgment of instructor Raha Naqavi
  • Recitation of Neynameh from the Masnavi by Mahtab Bastani
  • Hafez ghazal recitation by Gordafrid Moradian, with appreciation for instructor Fatemeh Salmanzadeh
  • Piano by Farzad Kianzad and Niki Bastani
  • Flute by Radmehr Rashidi

The evening’s program was hosted by Omid Kajian.
