Radkan taken on the night of the blood moon

The blood moon over Radkan Tower in Khorasan Razavi offered a stunning blend of history and natural beauty.

Located in Chenaran County, about 70 kilometers from Mashhad, the historic Radkan Tower is an all-brick structure over 800 years old. It is one of the earliest significant sites for scientific observation in the region. Historical accounts show that scholars like Khawaja Nasir al-Din Tusi first studied the skies from this tower and also used it to determine the seasons.

Capturing the Night
On Sunday, 16 Shahrivar 1404, in homage to these great figures, we visited this historically inspiring site to photograph the night sky. Many enthusiasts had gathered to observe and photograph the celestial event. The images were taken using advanced techniques such as double exposure (two exposures on one frame), long exposure, and lens movement effects.

Some photos were also shot on analog film, which is still awaiting development. Camera settings for the digital shots included a shutter speed of 1/200 sec, ISO between 400–600, and an aperture around f/8. Photoshop was later used to overlay images for optimal visual results.
