The statue of Arash the Archer was unveiled on Jomhouri Boulevard in Kerman, attended by Abbas Salehi, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance; Rashid Kakavand, Persian literature scholar; members of the Zoroastrian community; and local culture enthusiasts.

The ceremony was hosted by Mohsen Tuiserkani, mayor of Kerman’s District Two, who highlighted the cultural significance of the project. Dr. Kakavand spoke about Arash and his philosophical and literary presence in the Yashts and Shahnameh and expressed his appreciation to the district mayor. Minister Salehi, arriving in Kerman on the evening of Wednesday, August 27, 2025 (5 Shahrivar 1404) for Government Week, attended the unveiling alongside the provincial governor, local officials, and city administrators.

The seven-meter, twenty-centimeter statue was created by young sculptors Mohammad Hossein Mamourian and Mohaddeseh Nikfarjam over ten months. They have also created Sohrab’s Farewell to Tahmineh in the same district and produced Arash statues in several other cities. The artists plan to create a statue of the mythical Simurgh in the future.

The ceremony concluded with the official unveiling and commemorative photographs.

Arash, the legendary Iranian hero, is remembered for shooting his arrow with all his strength to define the border between Iran and Turan during an unequal battle, securing his eternal place in Iranian history.
