Zoroastrians Celebrated Amordadgan in Sharifabad, Ardakan

The Zoroastrian community of Sharifabad in Ardakan commemorated the Amordadgan at the Shah Fereydoun prayer hall.

As reported by the Sharifabad Zoroastrian Association, the celebration took place on Friday, the 3rd of Amordad, with the participation of community members.

The ceremony began with a collective recitation of Avesta led by Mobeds Mahyar Dehmobed and Shahbahram Beliwani, accompanied by fellow Zoroastrians. Following the prayers, Shahbahram Beliwani, head of the association, extended festive greetings and presented a summary of the association’s recent activities.

The event concluded with refreshments, including tea, sweets, and traditional syrup, served to all attendees.

Amordadgan is one of the twelve traditional Iranian festivals, observed when the day and month share the same name. “Amordad” symbolizes immortality and eternal life.
