Allahyar Dabestani, son of the late Master Ardeshir Dabestani, a respected Zoroastrian philanthropist and community leader, passed away in Seattle, USA.
Born on July 1, 1943 (10th of Tir 1322) in Sharifabad, Ardakan, Allahyar was the son of the late Khatoun and Master Ardeshir Dabestani. He was married to Giti Zohrabi, and together they had two children, Noushin and Ardeshir Dabestani.
Dr. Allahyar Dabestani was known for his deep commitment to the Zoroastrian community. He was an honorary member of the Iranian Zoroastrian Chamber of Commerce and represented Iranian Zoroastrians at several World Zoroastrian Chamber of Commerce congresses.
His support extended beyond community leadership to charitable and cultural initiatives. The annual Dr. Bahman Dabestani Memorial Sports Tournament was held each year in the first week of the Iranian calendar with his ongoing sponsorship.
Among his notable philanthropic contributions was a major road embankment project near the revered Pire Sabz pilgrimage site, completed in June 2023 (Khordad 1402). The project, costing nearly 5 billion rials, was partially funded by Allahyar Dabestani with a donation of 1.3 billion rials in memory of his father, with the remaining costs covered by the site’s operational budget.
Allahyar Dabestani passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025 (16 Khordad 1404), in Seattle.
Amordad extends heartfelt condolences to his family and the wider Zoroastrian community. May Ahura Mazda bless his soul with eternal peace and grant patience to his loved ones.
