The Zoroastrian community of British Columbia gathered at the Rostam Giv Darb-e-Mehr in Vancouver to celebrate Maidyozarem Gahambar, the seasonal festival dedicated to the creation of the sky.
Held on Saturday, May 3, the ceremony is an annual tradition made possible through the generous contribution of the Mahin family, in memory of their late mother, Lady Khanizadeh (Mahin). The event is organized by the Zoroastrian Association of British Columbia and takes place each year at the Rostam Guiv Darbe-Mehr.
The gathering began with a prayer service led by Mobed Jamshid Jamshidi, followed by a communal offering of lork (a traditional mix of seven dried fruits) and lunch for all attendees.
The ceremony was smoothly conducted under the guidance of Homa Ashtari, Director of Ceremonies and Festivals for the Zoroastrian Association of Vancouver.
