The first Parviz Askaie memorial biennial award was presented during the Ordibehesht-e-Hegmataneh conference, held on April 22, 2025, at the Ghadir Hall of Hamaden University of Medical Sciences.
This event was organized by the Written Heritage Research Institute, the Parviz Azkaei Endowment, and Hamadan-Nameh Weekly, with the support of various regional and national organizations.
After evaluating a range of submissions including books, master’s theses, and doctoral dissertations, the award jury announced the following recipients:
Best Book: From Hegmataneh to Ecbatana by Mohammad Rahim Sarraf, presenting the results of archaeological excavations at the Hegmataneh site from 1985 to 2000
Books worthy of appreciation and acknowledgement:
“Rawdat al-Muridin” edited and researched by Nasrollah Purjavadi and Mohammad Soori, and “Ceremony of the beloved” by Saeed Yarimi
Best Dissertation: A Foundational Study of the Hamedani Dialect Corpus by Fariba Sabouri
Honorable Mention (Dissertation): An Analysis of the National Movement’s Developments in Hamadan by Abolfath Momen
During the first Parviz Azkaei Memorial Biennial Award ceremony, additional honors were bestowed upon notable cultural figures. Mehdi Bekhial was recognized as the outstanding writer and bookseller, Mohammad Hossein Halimi was honored as the leading artist, and Khashayar Hadidchi was named the exemplary librarian.
The event was attended by prominent literary and academic figures, including Mir Jalaleddin Kazzazi, Mohammad Jafar Yahaghi, Alireza Ghiyamati, Nasrollah Pourjavadi, Hossein Masoumi Hamedani, Taghi Pournamdarian, Mohammad Rahim Sarraf, and Akbar Irani.
Several senior provincial and national officials were also in attendance, among them Hamid Malanouri, Governor of Hamadan; Gholamhossein Majzoobi, President of Bu-Ali Sina University; Javadi, Director General of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance; Javad Moeini, Acting Head of the National Library and Archives; Atefeh Zarei, Director of the Archives and Libraries Organization; Ali Mohammadi, Scientific Secretary of the Award; and Hossein Zandi, Executive Secretary of the Ordibehesht-e-Hegmataneh Conference and the Award. Some delivered remarks or presented official messages during the program.
In a special tribute to the memory and lasting contributions of Parviz Azkaei, the largest square on the Bu-Ali Sina University campus was officially named in his honor on the day of the ceremony.
