The World Zoroastrian Chamber of Commerce Congress, which provides an opportunity for collaboration, mutual growth in business, and discussion of the challenges facing the Zoroastrian community, is set to begin in Toronto. However, this year, no representative from Iran will be attending.
Dr. Mehrban Ardeshirian, a board member of the Zoroastrian Chamber of Commerce of Iran and Iran’s representative in the World Zoroastrian Chamber of Commerce, told Amordad that, unfortunately, there will be no Iranian representative at this year’s global congress. He further proposed that the next congress be hosted in India to make it easier for Iranian representatives to participate in this important international event.
The World Zoroastrian Chamber of Commerce Congress is one of the most important international gatherings for the Zoroastrian community, held annually with participants from around the world. This congress offers a platform for members to collaborate on business, economic, and cultural matters, and to propose joint strategies for advancing international cooperation. Key goals of the congress include improving trade relations among members, addressing the challenges and opportunities facing the Zoroastrian community in the global economy, and fostering networks among professionals in this field. Besides formal meetings and discussions, the event also features side programs such as expert talks, workshops, and networking opportunities. This year’s congress will be held in Toronto, Canada, from April 29 to May 3, 2025 (9 to 13 Ordibehesht 1404), with representatives from various countries in attendance. However, proposals have been made to ensure the participation of Iran this year. Still, proposals have been made to ensure the participation of Iranian Zoroastrians in future congresses.
