Nowruz Message from Mobed Dr. Mehraban Poladi

Mobed Dr. Mehraban Poladi, in his Nowruz message, described the sixth day of Farvardin as a significant and grand Nowruz. He highlighted the importance of understanding the essence of renewal and recognized Nowruz as the most prominent spring festival.

Below is the full message from Mehraban Poladi, head of the Council of Mobeds:

“Nowruz is a celebration of love and kindness. During this time, hearts draw closer, and compassion flows among people. This great Aryan festival serves as a reminder of the value of friendship and unity in life. It was established by Jamshid Pishdadi at the beginning of spring and has been honored for millennia as the first day of the new year. Asho Zarathustra endorsed this tradition 3,763 years ago, naming the sixth of Farvardin as the special and grand Nowruz—an occasion that has endured through history, unaffected by adversities and external pressures.

The secret of renewal must be understood; otherwise, spring and Nowruz will simply come and go each year. Nowruz stands as the most distinguished of spring festivals worldwide—a time when we wish for the happiness of others and embrace wisdom to overcome ignorance.

Gratitude be to Ahura Mazda, who, through His divine prophet Asho Zarathustra, imparted teachings that inspire us to contribute to the world’s prosperity and guide people toward truth and righteousness. I hope that all Zoroastrians, along with associations, organizations, the community’s representative, and esteemed members, will strengthen their unity and cooperation, wishing the best for everyone in the year ahead.

Finally, I extend my heartfelt congratulations on the arrival of this ancient Nowruz—a symbol of Iran’s splendor and a legacy of Jamshid Jam—to all those who uphold good thoughts, good words, and good deeds.”
