Engineer Jamshid Foroughi, renowned for his distinguished career, including the design and supervision of the Babak Kharasheh Sports Complex, has passed away.
Born on Farvardin 2, 1320 (March 22, 1941) in Kerman, he was the son of the late Golestan Khanizadeh and Morad Foroughi. He completed his primary and part of his secondary education in Kerman before continuing at Alborz High School in Tehran. In 1968, he earned a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Tehran.
He passed away at 11:00 PM on Sunday, Esfand 19, 1403 (March 9, 2025).
In 1974, he married Mahin Shahriari, and together they had two daughters: Pantea, an electrical engineer, and Paranda, an agricultural engineer specializing in meteorology. His son-in-law is Siamak Afshari.
His funeral was held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, Esfand 22, 1403 (March 12, 2025), coinciding with Zamyad Izad day, at Qasre Firuzeh Cemetery in Tehran.
Fulfilling his final wishes, the funds allocated for the third- and fourth-day memorial ceremonies will be donated to charity.
A memorial service for the late Jamshid Foroughi was held on Manthra Sepand day, corresponding to Thursday, Esfand 23, 1403 (March 13, 2025), from 12:30 to 2:30 PM at Iraj Hall.
