The ancient Iranian festival of Sadeh was once again celebrated with the lighting of fire, a symbol of warmth, light, and life. This year’s event in Ontario, Canada, brought together enthusiasts of Iranian heritage in a grand and traditional ceremony.
The 2025 Sadeh celebration took place on Saturday, Bahman 13, 1403 (February 1, 2025) at Mehraban Guiv Dar-e Mehr, organized by the Zoroastrian Cultural Foundation of Ontario. The ceremony began with the Atash Niyayesh (Fire Liturgy), performed by Mobeds Bahram Varjavand and Rashin Jahangiri, followed by performances from young students of religious classes and other artists.
The evening concluded with the lighting of the Sadeh fire, accompanied by the resonant beats of the daf, as the Mobeds and attendees gathered around the flames, bringing warmth to the celebration despite the winter cold.
