The Indian newspaper, Tribune India, reflected Mobed Dr Mehraban Pouladi’s first visit to India. As the Chairperson of the Mobeds Association of Iran, Dr. Pouladi traveled to India to strengthen religious connections between Zoroastrians in Iran and India.
The visit aimed to foster collaboration on religious and cultural ceremonies while assessing the spiritual and historical heritage of the Zoroastrian community. During the early days of Dey 1403 (December 2024), Dr. Pouladi toured significant religious sites, including Mumbai’s Atash Behrams (Fire Temples), the Iranshah Atash Vahram in Udvada, Dadrasteh Atash Behram, and other fire temples in Mumbai. Additionally, he visited historic landmarks such as the Behram Well and the Towers of Silence (Dakhmeh Zartoshtian) in Mumbai and Udvada.
Professor Salomeh Gholami, a Zoroastrianism expert from Cambridge University specializing in the preservation and documentation of Zoroastrian oral and written heritage, accompanied Dr. Pouladi on this visit.
