Mobed Mehrban Pouladi: Bahmanagan Celebration Is Not Related to Father’s Day

Mobed Dr. Mehrban Pouladi, President of the Association of Mobeds, congratulated the Bahmanagan celebration in a message and clarified that Bahmanagan has no connection to Father’s Day.

The president of the Association of Mobeds described the 5th day of Bahman in the Zoroastrian calendar, which marks Bahmanagan, as a day for wisdom, peace, reconciliation, and distancing from war and weapons.

The message of Mobed Dr. Mehrban Pouladi is as follows:

“Praise be to Ahura Mazda”,

With congratulations on the Bahmanagan festival,

We inform our dear co-religionists that the Bahmanagan festival, according to religious teachings, the core principles of Zoroastrianism, and other religious texts approved by the Association of Mobeds, is the day of Bahman in the month of Bahman, a day to honor Bahman Ameshaspand. This day celebrates wisdom, peace, reconciliation, and distancing from war and weapons, while guarding and protecting beneficial animals in the material world. It is a reminder of our responsibility toward the environment, love for living beings, and the wise use of the gifts of the universe.

Therefore, Bahmanagan is a day to honor this divine creation.

We remind everyone that Bahmanagan is not related to Father’s Day. We request that this valuable tradition be respected with accuracy and awareness. Father’s Day is celebrated during the Shahrivaragan festival.

Thank you,

Mobed Dr. Mehrban Pouladi

President of the Association of Mobeds”
