Commemoration of Artshtat Izad and Azar Month with Yalda Preparations at Adrian Fire Temple

With the coordination of the Adrian Fire Temple Executive Committee and the participation of community members, a ceremony celebrating Artshtat Izad and the month of Azar, along with preparations for Yalda and its traditional spread, was held at the Adrian Fire Temple Convention Hall in Tehran.

On the auspicious day of Artshtat Izad, Tuesday morning, Azar 20, 1403 (December 10, 2024), the Adrian Fire Temple in Tehran hosted a gathering of Zoroastrians. The program began with a communal prayer and Avesta recitation, led by Mobedyar Hormoz Khosroviani, who conducted the Koshti renewal ceremony in harmony with the attendees in the Adrian Fire Temple Hall.

Mobedyar Khosroviani provided insights into the Bersad section of the Avesta, explaining the significance of the Amshaspands and collaborating Yazatas. He also emphasized the importance of preserving Zoroastrian traditions, referencing Avesta.

The event continued with a presentation by Dr. Negar Bozorgchemi, a pharmacist, on Gallstones: Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment Options, and Preventive Measures. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, allowing participants to ask questions and contribute to a vibrant discussion.

Mehrangiz Zahbi congratulated attendees on Arshtat Day, discussing the traditions and significance of Yalda Night, followed by a poetry recitation. The Chokhodoleh ceremony (fortune-telling with a jar) included Hafiz readings and couplets, engaging all participants. Guests enjoyed a Yalda spread with nuts and Lorak (a ceremonial mix of dried fruits).

For the first time, a birthday celebration for fall-born individuals featured candle lighting and cake cutting. It was announced that future seasonal birthdays would be marked on Arshtat Izad days of each season.

The gathering continued with tea, sweets, watermelon, pomegranate, fruits, and Aash Reshteh, provided by Mehrangiz Zahbi. The event concluded with musical and poetic performances by Keshvar Kavousi, Mehri Gheibi, and Shahin Shirmardi, joined by attendees.

Dadbeh Orangi, representing the Adrian Fire Temple Executive Committee, expressed gratitude to organizers and attendees for their contributions to the ceremony.
