On Thursday morning, 24 Aban 1403 (November 15, 2024), the Secretary-General of the Reformist Party visited the Yazd Fire Temple.
As reported by Etemad news site, Ayatollah Dr. Rasoul Montajabnia, a religious scholar and the Secretary-General of the Islamic Republic’s Reformist Party (Jomhouriat), made a visit to the Yazd Fire Temple as part of his trip to the city. The visit coincided with the provincial congress of the Jomhouriat Party and the inauguration of a new party office in Yazd. On Thursday, 24 Aban, Ayatollah Rasoul Montajabnia toured the temple, observing the sacred fire and its historic significance.
Accompanying Ayatollah Rasoul Montajabnia were Hamidreza Kargar, the spokesperson for the Jomhouriat Party, Ali Yaqoubi, a former member of Parliament and head of the party’s provincial committee, and Saman Soleimani Marand, the head of the party’s public relations committee.
Ayatollah Rasoul Montajabnia, who previously served as deputy of Mehdi Karoubi in the Etemad Melli party, was also a former member of the central council of the campaigning clergy association and a professor in the Faculty of Jurisprudence and Law at Shahid University. He remains an influential figure in Iran’s political scene.
